Skillsync connector

Skillsync: the hub for your skills.

Skillsync is where you keep all your skills in one place. With this connector, your assistant can find the right skill from your library while you work and use it on your task. You add and edit skills on app.skillsync.com.

Server URL

https://app.skillsync.com/mcp

Use this address when your assistant asks for a connector or MCP server URL.

Set it up in Claude

  • Find Skillsync in Claude’s connectors directory, or add a custom connector with the server URL above.
  • Sign in to Skillsync when asked.
  • Approve access.

Set it up in ChatGPT

  • Find Skillsync in the ChatGPT apps directory. Or, with developer mode on, add a connector with the server URL above.
  • Sign in to Skillsync when asked.
  • Approve access.

Other assistants

Any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors with sign-in, such as Cursor, can use the same server URL. Settings → Agents in Skillsync has steps for each one.

Sign-in and permissions

  • You sign in on Skillsync and approve the connection there. Your assistant never sees your password. The sign-in uses OAuth.
  • The connector is read-only. It can read the skills in your library and nothing else. It can’t add, change or delete anything.
  • You can disconnect at any time. In Skillsync, open Settings → Agents and choose Disconnect. You can also remove the connector in your assistant’s settings.

Tools

  • find_skills searches your library for skills that fit what you asked for.
  • list_skills lists every skill in your library, when you ask to see them all.
  • get_skill loads a skill’s instructions and its list of files, so your assistant can use it on your task.
  • read_skill_file reads one file from a skill, such as a reference or a template.
  • download_skill gives a link to the whole skill as a .tar.gz file. The link works for one hour. It’s for assistants that run a skill’s scripts in a sandbox.

Things to ask

  • “Find my skill for reviewing pull requests and use it on this diff.”
  • “What skills do I have in Skillsync?”
  • “Use my release notes skill to write notes for these commits.”
  • “Do I have a skill for writing database migrations? If so, follow it for this change.”
  • “Load my writing style skill and rewrite this paragraph with it.”

The connector asks your assistant to tell you which skills it loaded.

Troubleshooting

  • Sign-in keeps coming back. Make sure your browser allows cookies for skillsync.com. Sign in at app.skillsync.com first, then connect again. If it still loops, remove the connector from your assistant and add it again.
  • A skill isn’t found. The connector only sees skills in your library. Add the skill to your library on app.skillsync.com, then ask again.
  • Disconnecting. Open Settings → Agents in Skillsync and choose Disconnect. Your assistant can’t get new access, and any access it already has runs out within the hour. Remove the connector in your assistant too.
  • Something else. Write to founders@skillsync.com.
