Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Skillsync Inc. (“Skillsync”, “we”) for your use of the Skillsync app at app.skillsync.com and its connector at app.skillsync.com/mcp. By creating an account or using Skillsync, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 to use Skillsync, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live to buy or sell.
  • Give accurate information, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the assistants you connect do with it.
  • Usernames are first come, first served. We may reclaim a username that impersonates someone or misleads people.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Skillsync to:

  • Publish content you don’t have the right to share, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Publish skills meant to cause harm: malware, instructions that try to take over or misuse an assistant, or anything that steals data or credentials.
  • Break the law, harass people, or publish content that is hateful, sexually exploitative, or deceptive.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or mislead people about what a skill does.
  • Get around limits, access controls or payments, or reach content you aren’t allowed to.
  • Overload, scrape, probe or disrupt the service, or interfere with other people’s use of it.

Anyone can report a skill. We review reports and may take down a skill, or suspend an account, that breaks these terms.

Your content

You own the skills, files and profile content you publish. You give Skillsync a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and serve that content as needed to run Skillsync: to show it on your profile and skill pages, to deliver it to the people who add or buy it and to the assistants they connect, and to draft descriptions of it when you publish. This license lasts while your content is on Skillsync, and afterwards for copies already in other people’s libraries.

When you publish a skill, you choose who can see it: public, unlisted, or private. People who add or buy a skill may use it, including through their assistants, for as long as it stays in their library. They may not resell or republish it as their own.

You are responsible for your content and promise that you have the rights to publish it.

The marketplace

  • Skillsync is a place where people publish, share and sell skills. Skills are made by their authors, not by Skillsync, and we don’t review them before they are published.
  • Sellers set their own prices, and Skillsync keeps a fee on each sale. Purchases are processed by Stripe, and sellers are paid through Stripe Connect.
  • Prices, and any refund terms, are shown on the skill’s page before you buy.
  • Selling is by invitation for now. Sellers must complete Stripe’s onboarding and follow Stripe’s terms.

AI assistants and the connector

You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, to your Skillsync account at app.skillsync.com/mcp. You sign in and approve the connection yourself. A connected assistant can read the skills in your library, and nothing else; it can’t publish, change or delete anything. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings.

Skills are instructions your assistant follows. Read a skill before you rely on it, and stay in charge of what your assistant does. The assistant you connect is provided by another company under its own terms, and we aren’t responsible for what it does.

Termination

You can stop using Skillsync at any time, and delete your account in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must by law, or to protect Skillsync or its users. When an account ends, skills other people already have may stay in their libraries, as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability, still apply.

Disclaimers

Skillsync is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don’t vouch for any skill or what an assistant does with it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Skillsync will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Skillsync, any skill, or any connected assistant. Our total liability for any claim about Skillsync is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will also tell you in the app. If you keep using Skillsync after a change, you accept the new terms.
